Two years ago, our organization identified a need to create additional housing for the women in our long-term discipleship program. As the program continued to thrive, the ladies of Pennsylvania Adult & Teen Challenge (PAATC) began to outgrow their current residence.
The space they were living in was becoming cramped and cluttered, no longer creating an environment the women needed to truly process and recover. Women’s program director, Jamie Mondesir explains, “Environment plays a huge role in your self-esteem; it goes hand-in-hand with your recovery and your faith journey.”
With a looming expansion on the horizon, the team at PAATC rallied around the women’s program to begin developing the place our women would eventually call home.
This remarkable achievement has been made possible through the generous support of our donors and is a testament to our commitment to providing a safe and comfortable living space for our women.
Key Features of Our New Women’s Housing
- 28 Women Occupancy – The house is designed to accommodate 28 women, providing a supportive and close-knit community.
- Wrap-around Deck – Residents can enjoy a wrap-around deck that offers a breathtaking view, providing a serene atmosphere for relaxation and contemplation.
- Entertainment Hub– The housing complex features a 75-inch TV and new leather couches, creating a welcoming entertainment space for residents.
- Multi-purpose Room – A multi-purpose room is designated for morning devotions and GS&NL (General Studies for New Learners: TC USA curriculum) classes, fostering personal and spiritual development. These studies are complemented by our clinical counseling services at the outpatient level.
- Comfortable Housing– Emphasis has been placed on creating comfortable and inspirational living spaces that contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of our female students.
Throughout this project, we recognized the importance of investing in our women’s program. The new housing stands as a tangible symbol of our commitment to supporting the personal and spiritual growth of our female students. The prolonged effort invested in this initiative has not only resulted in physical infrastructure but has also created an environment where our students feel prioritized, supported, and invested in.
As we celebrate the completion of this housing project, we invite the community, media, and stakeholders to share in our excitement and recognize the positive impact it will have on the lives of the women who will call it home. if you would like to support us in our work of “bringing wholeness to the hopeless” please visit www.paatc.org/donate.
